An Sabhal Cottage, Isle of Islay An Sabhal Cottage, Isle of Islay – Originally the ‘minister’s steadings’, comprising stables, threshing barn etc. It has been developed to offer every modern comfort in the exceptional rural and wildlife environment of south west Islay. The self catering cottages are situated midway between the twin picturesque fishing villages of Portnahaven and Port Wemyss on the Isle of Islay. Currently we only let out the cottage on the Portnahaven side, this might however change in the near future. There are excellent views from the upstairs lounges to farmland to the rear. Also, exceptional views across to the Rhinns lighthouse and the Donegal coast in Ireland from the front. Portnahaven village has a small beach at the end of the harbour which is ideal for children to play, and there are plenty of seals frequenting the rocks around the bay. There is also a Post Office, pub and convenience store. For those who enjoy the outdoor life, there are many excellent walks to be had both in the surrounding area and on land owned by the proprietors.
