Spacious and Serene Bedrooms

Built in 1882, the Western Isle Hotel has 28 spacious and comfortable rooms that can accommodate 55 people.

The largest bedrooms, have wonderful sea views, and named after single malt whiskies. The smaller, harbour and country view rooms are numbered. All are comfortable and well-appointed with en suite facilities.

The hotel’s Restaurant & Bar Conservatory offers panoramic views. Join us for drinks or dinner and enjoy world-class views, casual elegance, comfort, and the best food that our amazing local larder can provide. The Cameron Room, with views over the village, harbour and bay, is used all year round for breakfast; and the Kiloran Room, a more intimate space is used for private dining.

Our aim is to maximise use of Mull produce, from fish and seafood, to beef, venison, cured meats and cheese. Where Mull cannot meet the needs of our kitchen, our aim is to keep food miles to a minimum and buy from within Scotland. Our mission is to make all our wonderful local ingredients taste of themselves and let their quality shine through.

Leisure

The Western Isles Hotel is located on the Isle of Mull.  The largest of the islands of Argyll and the third largest in Scotland with 300 miles of coastline.

Ben More, with an elevation of roughly 1,000 metres is a popular climb and the island has many other fine hill walks of varying degrees of difficulty.

It is home to many historical sites and monuments, including a bronze age stone circle at Loch Buie and iron age fortified duns and crannogs.  Traditional medieval castles at Duart and Loch Buie (ruined), and grand baronial castles at Torosay and Glengorm.

Tobermory is famous for its colourful waterfront buildings and harbour. There are plenty of beautiful beaches and bays from Calgary and Kilninian in the north to Loch Buie and Carsaig in the south. There are guided wildlife tours of Mull.  You may be lucky enough to see puffin colonies, dolphins, great whales, basking sharks, sea eagles.
