Eight comfortable and well appointed rooms offer a peaceful and relaxing retreat from the hectic bustle of every day life and those long days in the hills.
A dog-friendly hotel and will happily welcome your four-legged friends for a visit or to stay. Lunch and evening meals served daily in our sun lounge or dining room. Stocking a good selection of beer and wines in our public bar. There is a play area for the children and a beer garden for those who wish to enjoy those sunnier days.
Approximately 1 hour from Fort William, Loch Shiel Hotel is situated in Acharacle about 100 metres from the southern tip of Loch Shiel and at the Eastern entrance of the beautiful Ardnamurchan peninsula, the most Westerly point of the British Mainland. The hotel was built in the late 19th century.
For those of you who love the natural beauty and wildlife of the Western Highlands there is plenty to do in the area with its wonderful walks, scenic drives, beaches, boat trips and many other leisure activities including fishing, biking and kayaking.
The area is steeped in history including Bonnie Prince Charlie’s landing at Glenfinnan after his journey across the waters of Loch Shiel in 1745. A visit to the area can also include the many movie locations – from Skyfall (Glen Etive), Braveheart (Glen Nevis and Glencoe), Harry Potter (Glenfinnan), Rob Roy (Glen Nevis, Fort William), Local Hero (Morar/Arisaig) to Highlander (Glenfinnan).
All the rooms have Egyptian cotton bed linen, tea/coffee making facilities, television and our bathrooms have complimentary toiletries. 4 standard rooms with outlooks over the village and surrounding hills or partial views toward Loch Shiel.
Early birds can watch the sunrise (weather permitting) with a cup of tea or coffee. The 4 loch view rooms are more spacious with stunning views over Loch Shiel. In most you can watch the sun set over the loch from the comfort of your bed. We welcome well behaved pets in most rooms. Free Wi Fi is also available within the hotel.

The dining areas consist of the sun lounge, dining room and bar all of which situated on the ground floor. The bar and dining room both have open fires and all areas have stunning views of Loch Shiel.

The bar is open all day from 12.00 noon for residents and non-residents in season and from 4.30pm off season on weekdays
